On the morning of September 30, to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and to inspire patriotic sentiments and dedication to serving the country among faculty and students, the school held a flag-raising ceremony on the square. Members of the Party and administrative leadership Zhang Jianhua, Xu Jie, Wang Chenggao, Liang Shujuan, Kong Lingjun, Zhang Zhong, Cheng Min, Li Shibao, Tian Yusheng, Wang Shiqun, and Liu Hanbo attended the event.

At 7:00 AM, faculty and students stood in orderly rows, solemn and respectful. The flag-raising guard marched with firm and resolute steps as they escorted the national flag to the flag platform. As the powerful strains of the "March of the Volunteers" filled the air, the Five-Starred Red Flag was raised slowly, fluttering in the wind. All faculty and students gazed upon the flag, sang the national anthem loudly, and collectively expressed their wishes for the prosperity and strength of the great motherland, as well as the happiness and well-being of its people.

Zhang Jianhua, Secretary of the University Party Committee, delivered a vivid ideological and political lesson on patriotism for the faculty and students present, titled "Embracing the Vast Universe, Holding the Homeland and the World in Heart." He pointed out that under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, our country has achieved one remarkable miracle after another, accomplishing a great leap from catching up with the times to leading them. Looking back at the university's 74-year journey of relentless endeavor, it has always resonated with the nation's destiny and advanced in step with the national rejuvenation. Generations of “Shan Eryi” members, upholding the university motto of "Pursuing Truth and Serving Society" and the spirit of "Striving for Self-improvement and Forging Ahead with Innovation," have worked hard in challenging environments, made breakthroughs in the era of reform, and contributed their wisdom and strength to the economic, social, and health development of the region and the entire nation.

Zhang Jianhua emphasized that standing at this new historical starting point and facing the grand blueprint of building a modern socialist country in all respects, students are both dream-chasers and dream-realizers. He expressed his hope that students would strengthen their ideals and convictions, becoming a new generation that heeds the Party's guidance and follows its lead; master solid skills, becoming pillars of society who endure hardship and strive diligently; and cultivate a profound spirit of service, becoming compassionate and responsible health ambassadors. He called on students to not only harbor lofty aspirations of "reaching for the stars" but also possess the pragmatic spirit of "keeping their feet on the ground." They should strive for excellence in life while maintaining a perpetual drive to advance through tireless struggle, becoming diligent young learners who integrate knowledge with action, and becoming “Shan Eryi” members who uphold integrity, innovate, and dedicate their lives to healing.

Four students—Ni Junbo,He Changsen and Yang Jinxi from the School of Medical Imaging, and Liu Yuying from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine—delivered a speech under the national flag titled "Passing the Torch of Spirit, Composing a Magnificent Chapter in a Thriving Era," demonstrating “Shan Eryi” students' firm belief in upholding the founding mission of "putting the people first" and courageously bearing the responsibilities of the times.

With the stirring melody of "Ode to the Motherland," the flag-raising ceremony concluded successfully.

The event was attended by all the students of grade 2025, heads of relevant university departments, Party committee secretaries of all faculties, deputy secretaries in charge of student and youth league work, and freshmen advisors.
