On June 19, Academician Kubanychbek Zhumaliyev, Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstanand founder of the International Medical University of Kyrgyzstan, led a delegation to visit our university. Vice President Li Shibao met with the guests and held discussions. During the meeting, Vice President Li Shibao provided an overview of the university’s development history, academic disciplines, talent cultivation, and international collaborations. He noted that the International Medical University of Kyrgyzstan is a prestigious higher medical institution in Central Asia, with distinctive strengths in medical education, talent development, and internationalized operations. The two universities share broad prospects for cooperation in areas such as medical education models, faculty and student exchanges, academic resources sharing, and the training of international students. Li expressed hope that both institutions would build greater consensus, leverage their respective strengths, and advance practical cooperation across various fields, thereby contributing to thehigh-quality implementation of the educational initiatives under the Belt and Road framework. Academician Kubanychbek Zhumaliyev provided an introduction to the operation of the International Medical University ofKyrgyzstan (IMUK). He emphasized that under the guidance of the Belt and RoadInitiative (BRI), cultural and educational exchanges between China and Kyrgyzstan have grown increasingly robust. As higher medical education institutions, both of the two universities possess tremendous potential for collaboration in medical education, he stated. This visit marks a significant beginning for the partnership between the two universities, and they look forward to establishing in-depth, practical cooperation with our university to achieve mutual benefits and shared success. Following the discussion, the delegationfrom the International Medical University of Kyrgyzstan conducted an on-site tour of the University History Museum and the Cultural & Sports Activity Center. Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (College of International Education) and the School of Basic Medical Sciences participated in the event. |
