On November 5th, President Mairim de la Caridad Lago Queija and Vice President Magdemily Fallat Ramos of Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana, Cuba, along with their delegation, visited Shandong Second Medical University. President Guan Yingjun met with the delegation and signed an agreement, while vice president Cheng Min also attended the event.

GuanYingjun warmly welcomed the delegation led by Mairim de la Caridad Lago Queija,and introduced the school's development history, educational characteristics,and international cooperation endeavors. She points out that Universidad deCiencias Médicas de La Habana has a long history and is the most prestigious medical university in Cuba, with distinct advantages in medical education and clinical research. The two universities share a high degree of compatibility in disciplines such as clinical medicine, stomatology, medical imaging, and nursing, bringing broad prospects for cooperation. Shandong Second Medical University will fully support the cooperation between the two universities, creating conditions and providing guarantee to promote this partnership. She hopes that the two universities can strengthen communication, maintain close exchanges, and engage in pragmatic cooperation, contributing wisdom and strength to promoting educational exchanges between China and Cuba.

Mairimde la Caridad Lago Queija expressed her gratitude for the warm reception extended by Shandong Second Medical University. She introduced the school-running situation of Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana and spoke highly of Shandong Second Medical University's discipline construction and educational achievements. She sincerely invited a delegation from Shandong Second MedicalUniversity to visit Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana as soon as possible and expressed her strong anticipation for jointly exploring new models of talent cultivation, teacher exchange, and joint scientific research cooperation with Shandong Second Medical University, in order to promote the vigorous development of Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana as well as Sino-Cuban medical education.

Duringthe meeting, on behalf of their respective universities, Guan Yingjun andMairim de la Caridad Lago Queija signed an agreement on joint student cultivation. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the implementation details of joint cultivation for students majoring in clinical medicine, stomatology, and medical imaging, and also exchanged views on academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation, laying the foundationfor comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Afterthe meeting, Mairim de la Caridad Lago Queija and her delegation visited ShandongSecond Medical University's culture and sports center.
