On April 25, the delegation led by Magdemily Fallat Ramos, vice president of the International Affairs of Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana in Cuba, and Rene Oramas GonzÃlez, vice president of academy, visited our school. Vice President Lu Guohua met with the delegation and had a discussion. Lu Guohua welcomed the delegation, and briefly introduced the school's development history, discipline majors, school-running characteristics, and international cooperation. She pointed out that there is a long-standing and well-established friendship between China and Cube. There are many similarities in the professional fields of clinical medicine, nursing, dental medicine, and public health. She hoped that the two universities could take full advantage of this visit to deepen mutual understanding, exchange views, collaborate with each other and carry out in-depth pragmatic cooperation in student training, teacher-student exchanges, and joint scientific research. Magdemily Fallat Ramos briefly introduced the school development, discipline settings, and scientific research of Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana. She said that the two universities have a high integrating degree in majors and a broad cooperative prospect. It is expected that the two parties will carry out in-depth and solid cooperation in the future. After in-depth communication, the two sides reached consensus on teachers and students' visits and exchanges, joint training of students, and medical scientific research cooperation, and signed a memorandum of cooperation. The two sides hope to continuously consolidate the foundation of cooperation, enrich the forms of cooperation, and coordinate the promotion of the high-quality development of medical education in the two universities respectively. Relevant persons in charge of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office (International Education College), Development and Planning Office, Office of Educational Administration, Office of Academic Research, School of Clinical Medicine, School of Nursing, and School of Stomatology participated in the meeting. It is reported that Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de La Habana belongs to the Ministry of Health of Cuba. It was founded in 1728 and has more than 25,000 students at school with a full range of educational levels including the cultivation of undergraduates, post graduates and doctoral students.
